You can delete your SpeedPost account at any time, without contacting us and without giving a reason. This page describes the procedure, what is erased and what, by legal obligation, cannot be.
First: cancelling is not deleting
These are two distinct actions.
- Cancelling ends billing and keeps your account.
- Deleting erases the account and associated data, irreversibly.
⚠️ If you subscribed on the App Store or Google Play, turn off automatic renewal with that platform first. Deleting your SpeedPost account does not cancel a subscription managed by Apple or Google: billing would continue.
- Apple: Settings > your name > Subscriptions
- Google Play: Play Store > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions
Deleting from the application
Deletion is available directly in SpeedPost, on every platform (web, iOS, iPadOS, Android, macOS):
- open SpeedPost and sign in;
- go to Settings;
- scroll to the “Delete my account” section;
- read the list of data concerned, then type the confirmation word requested;
- confirm. Deletion runs immediately and you are signed out.
No cooling-off period, no email step: deletion takes effect as soon as you confirm.
Deleting without access to the application
If you can no longer access your account, write to [email protected] from the email address linked to the account, stating your deletion request. We verify your identity and then carry out the deletion, no later than one month from receipt of the request, in accordance with article 12 of the GDPR.
What is deleted
Deletion is immediate and covers:
- your account and sign-in credentials;
- your posts, drafts and scheduled publications;
- your imported and generated media, including the stored files;
- the connections to your social media accounts and the corresponding access tokens;
- your conversations with the agent and the memory it had kept from them;
- your brand identity (colours, logo, editorial tone, character);
- your automations, templates and usage statistics;
- your preferences and active sessions.
Your social media accounts themselves are not deleted: only the connection between SpeedPost and those accounts disappears. Posts already published remain on the platforms concerned; you can delete them there yourself.
What is retained, and why
| Data | Period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Invoices and accounting records | 10 years | Article L123-22 of the French Commercial Code |
| Technical and security logs | 12 months maximum | Service security, retention obligation |
| Technical backups | Expire within 30 days | Automatic backup rotation |
That data is no longer used to provide the Service; it is kept only for the period imposed by law, then erased.
